Nevada County Consolidated firefighters responded to a report of medical aid on Grizzly Trail off Greenhorn Road at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, rescuing a man and his dog, according to Battalion Chief Mark Buttron. It was determined they would have to physically rescue the man, who was 200 feet down a steep slope to the rear of his home, Buttron said. The man had been trying to assist his elderly dog up the hill when he became incapacitated and was unable to walk out due to a medical condition, Buttron said.
