PEO hams it up at Mad Hatter Party

There were more than 36 members and guests at the most recent Philanthropic Educational Organization’s Mad Hatter party.

The meeting took place in a private home in Lake Wildwood with lunch served by five of the members’ spouses.

A raffle took place to raise funds for the scholarship program. PEO is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in helping women “reach for the stars” by bringing them increased opportunities for higher education.

Two local chapters conduct a number of fundraising activities throughout the year with proceeds going to support Cottey College, a fully accredited two-year liberal arts college for women in Nevada, Mo., and many scholarships and loans for women attending
college and/or doing graduate work.
