Roadwork schedule for Nevada County


Long-term projects

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Brace Road to Magra: Work is set to begin on the $36 million project to increase the vertical clearance for nine structures in south Placer County. The vertical clearance will be increase on six structures by lifting the existing bridge deck and the other three will have the roadway below dug down to a lower level. 

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Rollins Lake Road/Magra Road (Exit 139): Westbound motorists can expect a long-term closure of the on and off-ramps through Oct. 1. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous structure work. Motorists are advised to Secret Town interchange as the alternate route.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Penryn Road: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous structure work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Magra Road: Motorists can expect the east and westbound No. 1 lanes closed from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous structure work.

Short-term projects

Highway 49 (Yuba and Sierra counties) from Sleighville Circle to Yuba Summit: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to miscellaneous maintenance work.

Highway 49 (Nevada County) from Fawn Path Drive to Alta Sierra Drive: Motorists can expect the No. 1 lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to miscellaneous construction work.

Highway 49 (Placer County) from Elm-Harrison Street to Joeger Road: Motorists can expect various north and southbound lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to paving work.

Interstate 80 (Sierra and Nevada Counties) from the Nevada State line to Farad: Westbound motorists can expect the No. 2 lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Fiberboard undercrossing to the Truckee Scales: Motorists can expect the eastbound No. 2 lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from end of Chain on area to the Hinton Road undercrossing: Motorists can expect the eastbound No. 1 lane closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do drainage work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Floriston to Hinton: Motorists can expect the westbound No. 2 lanes closed from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding operations.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Soda Springs: Motorists can expect the east and westbound No. 1 lanes closed from midnight Monday through 3 p.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Weimar Cross Road to Placer Hills Road: Motorists can expect the east and westbound No. 1 lanes closed from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Elm Avenue to Russell Road: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Highway 89 (Placer County) from Highway 28 to Alpine Meadows:  Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do drainage work.

Highway 267 (Nevada County) from Interstate 80 to Soaring Way/Brockway Road: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.
