Police Blotter: Widespread theft


Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

6:53 a.m. — An online report of theft and vandalism was filed by a user from the 300 block of Columbia Avenue.

6:55 a.m. — An online report of theft was filed by a user from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive.

6:56 a.m. — An online report of theft was filed by a user from the 200 block of South Church Street.

6:57 a.m. — An online report of vandalism was filed by a user from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive.

11:37 a.m. — A needle was found in a parking lot on the 100 block of East Main Street, and the reporting party asked to have it picked up.

12:39 p.m. — A caller on the 300 block of East Maryland Drive reported a possible IRS scam.

12:59 p.m. — A karaoke machine was reported stolen from the bar at a community center.

1:38 p.m. — A caller on the 400 block of Richardson Street reported a vehicle abandoned in front of her residence.

1:50 p.m. — An anonymous caller on the 100 block of Park Avenue reported a large group of 15 or more juveniles hanging out, smoking cigarettes and being loud.

3:54 p.m. — A caller at the Dogs Run Free Park on the 600 block of Minnie Street opened the door of someone else’s vehicle to let a cat trapped therein roam free. The anti-theft alarm was triggered.

4:06 p.m. — A caller on the 50 block of Candy Lane reported the theft of her car battery.

7:23 p.m. — A caller on the 100 block of Neal Street reported that his vehicle had been vandalized.

Monday

12:42 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported that the vehicle’s radio equipment was stolen while it was in the repair shop.

12:50 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Rohaje Drive reported stolen wood. “Some of the wood had rolled to neighbor’s property and they’ve taken it.”

3:05 p.m. — Someone from the 16000 block of Indian Springs Ranch Road came into the office to report a theft.

6:48 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Magnolia Road reported a residential burglary involving a computer and other items.

7:46 p.m. — A 911 caller in the vicinity of East Lime Kiln Road and Highway 49 reported two vehicles driving recklessly and “doing burn outs.”

7:51 p.m. — A 911 caller reported an escaped burn pile near a vineyard on Rosemary Lane.

9:03 p.m. — A caller in the vicinity of Paradise Lane and Brooks Road reported that his neighbors were smoking meth, and he could smell the fumes.

10:50 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported that his tires had been slashed.

Monday

4:21 p.m. — A caller on Airport Road reported a jeep trespassing on private property.

8:44 p.m. — A 911 caller on Broad Street reported that she was being stalked. She also told dispatchers that she had previously reported the situation to the Grass Valley Police Department but they had called her crazy. She wanted to talk to someone else.

Tuesday

7:12 a.m. — A driver was found slumped over the wheel of a vehicle with its hazard lights flashing in the vicinity of Highway 49 and Gold Flat Road.
