Police blotter: Caller reports incendiary device


Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

9:49 a.m. — A woman from West Empire Street reported almost every vehicle parked on the street had been broken into.

10:30 a.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a man sleeping in a sleeping bag by some picnic tables.

11:45 a.m. — A man from Brunswick Road and Plaza Drive reported the theft of his dog.

11:48 a.m. — A woman from the 900 bock of Sutton Way reported someone tampered with her tires and had been inside her vehicle.

1:46 p.m. — A caller from South Church and Chapel streets reported a large homeless camp.

1:55 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Woodcrest Way reported two red cars drag racing, which happens about twice a week at about 2 p.m.

2:57 p.m. — A woman from the 700 block of South Auburn Street reported possible fraudulent charges made on her ATM card.

4:06 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Buena Vista Street reported drug activity. A resident denied drug activity, but three hypodermic needles were seen in plain sight on the front porch and were taken for destruction. A known drug user was seen leaving on a bicycle as officers arrived.

4:45 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Collins Lane reported a vehicle burglary last night.

7:32 p.m. — A woman from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported the theft of a wallet.

8:48 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Joerschke Drive reported a man yelling and throwing things. He was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

11:24 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Catalpa Lane reported three men running around the neighborhood, looking into businesses. At 11:29 p.m., a man from the 100 block of Highlands Court reported two men tried to break into his house. They could not be located.

Tuesday

12:22 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of est Main Street reported neighbors were horsing around and breaking items for five or six hours.

Monday

8:30 a.m. — A caller from Dog Bar Road reported possible abused or neglected horses.

9:59 a.m. — A woman from the 18000 block of North Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported the theft of a pot-bellied pig.

10:34 a.m. — A caller from Lyman Gilmore School reported two boys just ran away from school.

11:31 a.m. — A woman from the 11000 block of Elnora Drive reported the theft of items.

11:59 a.m. — A woman from the 14000 block of Stinson Drive reported trespassers possibly pulling tree stumps.

12:12 p.m. — A caller from Pleasant Valley Road reported animals dying in the area.

12:13 p.m. — A woman from Gold Drive and Squirrel Creek Road reported a large transient camp, which could not be located.

1 p.m. — A caller from the 20000 block of Dog Bar Road reported sheep that had not been shorn in years.

2:17 p.m. — A caller from Rex reservoir Road and Rough and Ready Highway reported a tree was down on power lines.

3:33 p.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Thiel Way reported a possible mail scam.

4:17 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported a person made a device and set it under leaves; the fire burned itself out.

8:21 p.m. — A caller from Alpha Toll and Washington roads reported two men fighting. One reportedly was telling the other he was going to blow him away with a shotgun. A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

Tuesday

12:41 a.m. — A woman in the 17000 block of Cattle Drive was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and drug paraphernalia.

Monday

2:26 a.m. — A caller from Nevada City Highway reported a man sleeping in a pickup at the gas pumps for an hour.

10:03 a.m. — A man from Zion Street reported a theft.

4:20 p.m. — A caller reported a stolen cell phone.
