Woman sought on drug warrant faces new charges of stealing from grandmother

A woman being sought on an outstanding warrant in connection with drug sales is facing new charges after she reportedly fraudulently used a relative's credit card.
Jessie Leanne Mulligan, 25, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 16000 block of Bush Road on a warrant relating to an October 2013 arrest after she reportedly inadvertently texted, then set up, a drug buy with an undercover narcotics officer. She failed to appear for a court date Jan. 20 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sale.
She was booked into county jail Tuesday on that warrant but also on new charges of second-degree burglary, theft and forgery and was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Mulligan reportedly had gone to her grandmother's house on Feb. 9 to do laundry, said Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal.
The next day, another relative discovered some of the grandmother's items in a bag in the driveway, which is suspected to have been dropped by Mulligan as she left, Royal said.
The grandmother subsequently got a call from one of her credit card companies on Feb. 11 regarding a series of suspicious transactions from the day before. Her card had been used to purchase items at Payless, Radio Shack, Rite Aid, Sole Sisters and Big 5, as well being used to pay for a taxi ride, Royal said.
The victim went to one of the retail locations and subsequently identified Mulligan from surveillance video, Royal said. Mulligan is also facing charges from a Jan. 23 arrest.
Members of the Nevada County Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force were about to serve a search warrant for Michael Brien Young when he drove by; Young was detained, as were his two passengers, Mulligan and Landon Kehn.
Mulligan was taken into custody on a warrant and told the deputies she had a large quantity of methamphetamine concealed on her person. She was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and transportation and possession for sale, as well as the felony warrant.
