Jane Roberts, co-founder of 34 Million Friends of the United Nations Population Fund (34millionfriends.org), will speak on women, population and the United Nations Millennium Development Goals as part of a U.N. Day presentation by the Golden Empire Chapter of the United Nations Association.

Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon: “In women, the world has the most significant but untapped potential for development and peace.”
Roberts has been honored by Ms. Magazine, Women’s eNews, the American Public Health Association and is featured in the international best-seller, “Half the Sky,” by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl Wudunn. The program has a suggested donation of $10.
