Members of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force made a number of meth-related arrests over the last several days, with one suspect reportedly found with nearly $2,000 in cash.
NTF members were out on Friday conducting marijuana-related probation searches, said Deputy John Dzioba. They located Justin Daniel Montgomery, 33, who was wanted on two felony no-bail warrants, at a residence in the 22000 block of Sunset Ridge in Lake of the Pines.
Detectives found 2.6 grams of methamphetamine, Oxycontin and Ritalin, as well as a meth pipe, Dzioba said.
Montgomery was booked into county jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and was being held without bail.
The same day, task force members also conducted a search at the residence of Anthony Hall Sedgwick, 50, in the 17000 block of Indian Springs Road in Penn Valley.
Sedgwick was found to be in possession of about 1 ounce of meth, digital scales, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and about $1,700 in cash, Dzioba said.
He was booked into county jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, possession for sale, possessing drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and committing a felony while on bail. He was being held in lieu of $72,000 bail.
A woman identified as his girlfriend, Amanda Lyn Young, 35, was booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and released on $1,000 bail.
On Sunday, a narcotics detective recognized a local woman wanted on three felony no-bail warrants.
Jacqueline Marie Knack, 27, was stopped at about 2:30 p.m. at the Rough & Ready Market, according to dispatch reports.
After she was detained, the deputy searched her pursuant to her probation terms and reportedly found 1 ounce of meth, a meth pipe and a small amount of hash.
She was booked into county jail on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, as well as on the three warrants.
She is being investigated for possession of a controlled substance for sale and is being held without bail.
