Police blotter: Woman blackmailed with dog torture threats

9:30 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Dorsey drive reported the theft of an ATV from a construction yard.
11:35 a.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported finding a meth pipe, which was collected for destruction.
11:37 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Mill Street reported someone possibly casing her residence.
1:09 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported a woman took money from a tip jar and left on foot. She later was arrested on suspicion of violating probation.
1:15 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Butler Street reported the theft of a no-parking sign.
1:22 p.m. — A man from the 500 block of South Auburn Street reported his vehicle had been broken into.
2:09 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Mill Street reported three people hiding in the bushes.
3:22 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 300 block of Railroad Avenue reported a person rented a log splitter and did not return it.
4:29 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a man shoplifted and fled on foot.
8:24 p.m. — A caller from the 1200 block of East Main Street reported a drunken woman tearing up a room, who then went outside and was yelling.
8:44 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of First Street reported a man with a beer was kicking a screen door and then left.
12:25 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported loud music; it was quiet when an officer arrived.
2:06 a.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported two people looking inside a vehicle, who then left. They were given a ride.

9:07 a.m. — A woman from Cottage Hill Drive reported the theft of a dog several weeks ago. She said she received photos from someone on Craigslist of a different dog, with threats that they would hurt the dog if she did not give them money.
9:49 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Marjon Drive reported a fraud.
10:27 a.m. — A caller from Grizzly Hill School reported a burglary.
10:46 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Loma Rica Drive reported the theft of gasoline from a company bus.
12:15 p.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Maranatha Place reported a dog attacked her sheep.
2:28 p.m. — A woman from Lodestar Drive and Kodiak Lane reported semiautomatic gunfire with a bullet ricocheting off her roof.
8:59 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Ridge Road reported a fight with a very drunken man involved. He was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats.
11:20 p.m. — A man reported that someone just called him and said a friend was missing, and her jewelry was found in the river with blood on it. A Grass Valley Police officer reportedly was en route to pick him up.

12:58 a.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street reported an extremely intoxicated woman trying to buy wine, who dropped a bottle while staggering to the cash register of a business. She then drove away at a slow rate of speed.
