Grazing, irrigation workshop Tuesday

A demonstration of a K-Line irrigation system, electric fencing and grass finishing strategies will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elster Ranch. The ranch is located at 12499 Elster Place in Grass Valley. K-Line irrigation is a series of above-ground pods and poly pipe with sprinklers inside the pods. The poly pipe is connected to a central riser, and then the pipe and the pods can be moved with an ATV while the sprinklers are running.

Electric fencing and grass finishing strategies will be demonstrated and discussed.

The workshop is free and is sponsored by UC Cooperative Extension. Speakers will include George Nolte and Rob Thompson of Elster Ranch, Karen Henderson and John Drew of Livewire Fence and Roger Ingram of UC Cooperative Extension. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be found online at
