February 10, 2014
Narcotics detectives serving a search warrant in Cascade Shores Friday morning ended up arresting four people on a variety of drug and weapons charges.
Members of the Nevada County Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force served the warrant at the residence of Douglas Macduff Jr., 22, in the 15000 block of Cascade Loop, at about 10 a.m.
They reportedly located a small amount of heroin and at least one hypodermic syringe loaded with suspected heroin, as well as a couple of grams of psychedelic mushrooms.
Drug paraphernalia, including scales, methamphetamine smoking devices, needles and tourniquets also reportedly were located.
Detectives also reportedly found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a bandolier with numerous shotgun shells.
Macduff was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, being armed in commission of a felony, being a felon in possession of a firearm and being under the influence of a controlled substance. His bail amount was set at $102,000.
Three people at the residence also were taken into custody.
Joshua Earl Paulin, 36, and Tabitha Renee Gilbert, 28, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance. They both were being held in lieu of $12,000 bail.
Ryan Seth Dentinger, 22, was booked into county jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance, committing a felony while on bail and being in possession of stolen property — reportedly a GPS. He was being held in lieu of $11,000 bail, according to jail staff.
Dentinger had been arrested by the task force on Jan. 29 in Grass Valley and charged with possessing a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
