‘Cultures of Resistance’ on screen Sunday

The Peace Center’s Second Sunday Cinema presents Reinette Senum, Sharon Del Gado and Dan Scanlan, recently back from Occupy Wall Street, New York, for a panel discussion at 6 p.m. Sunday at Unitarian Universalists Community of the Mountains (UUCM), 246 S. Church Street, Grass Valley.

Following the discussion will be the award-winning documentary “Cultures of Resistance” at 7 p.m.

With events throughout the U.S. and worldwide, people from all walks of life are finding creative ways to oppose war and to promote peace, justice, and sustainability through direct actions.

Filmed over five continents, “Cultures of Resistance” is a beautiful collage of how people around the world are promoting these changes through film, music, art and even food.

“Cultures of Resistance” was established to identify and support international and diverse initiatives that embody these values, and to fortify an international network of activists and agitators, educators and artists, musicians, guerilla filmmakers, vanguard gardeners and gourmands.

Suggested donation is $5-$10. (No one will be turned away for lack of funds.)
