Cedar Ridge man arrested after allegedly being found with drugs, cash

A Cedar Ridge man was arrested on drug charges after law enforcement was called for a report of a domestic violence incident.
Nevada County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on Cedar Ridge Drive at about 4 a.m. Monday, according to dispatch reports.
The house was known to be the residence of Harold Robert Mason, 34, who had prior contacts with law enforcement, said Sheriff Keith Royal.
No one initially answered the door, although a woman could be seen inside, Royal said.
She eventually did open the door and indicated Mason was inside, according to Royal.
Mason allegedly was found hiding in a closet in a bedroom. Because he was wanted on a no-bail felony warrant, he was searched.
A folded dollar bill was found in a wallet in his pocket, which contained methamphetamine, Royal said.
A backpack in the bedroom was found to contain "all kinds of stuff," Royal said, including $5,500 in cash, several containers of meth, scales and packaging material, and other controlled substances.
According to Royal the domestic dispute was found to have been verbal only.
But Mason went to county jail and was booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic, possession of controlled substances for sale and drug paraphernalia, as well as violating probation and the warrant.
He was being held without bail.
