3 arrested after traffic stop turns up stolen items
January 15, 2013
Three people ended up in county jail — two on theft charges — after a Grass Valley Police officer tried to pull over their vehicle Tuesday.
It was the second time in less than a week for the two men, who had been arrested in unrelated incidents by other law enforcement agencies in the county.
The officer saw the trio — identified as Megan Crain, Robert Thomason and Jonathon Trihub — at about 5 p.m. near Hazel and Doris drives, said Capt. Rex Marks.
All three "bailed and ran away but not very far," Marks said, adding that they were quickly apprehended.
Officers allegedly located a number of items that had been reported as stolen from vehicles.
"We're still investigating, but we recovered most of the property known to be taken from at least four burglaries," Marks said.

Marks added that more details of the investigation would be released as soon as possible, including details about the items recovered.
Crain, 26, was arrested on two outstanding warrants and was being held without bail.
Thomason, 29, was arrested on suspicion of check forgery, theft of access cards, petty theft and being in possession of stolen property. He was being held in lieu of $10.750 bail.
Trihub, 20, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and being in possession of stolen property and was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Trihub had been arrested by Nevada City Police officers Jan. 3 as he allegedly tried to peddle a piece of jewelry he had stolen from a vehicle just a few nights before.
He also allegedly has been linked to at least one other vehicular burglary and could be responsible for a recent surge of reported break-ins in Nevada City.
Trihub has been charged with two counts of possessing stolen property and is set to appear on those charges in Nevada County Superior Court Jan. 24.
Thomason had been arrested Jan. 5 after he was spotted allegedly hopping a fence at Hansen Brothers Enterprises in an attempt to steal scrap metal.
He had been booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on suspicion of trespassing, petty theft and criminal conspiracy and released on $11,500 bail.
