2 arrested locally tied to Dixon shooting
October 29, 2013
Two suspects in a shooting in Solano County were arrested in Grass Valley Wednesday morning after they reportedly burglarized a vehicle near the hospital.
Officers had responded to a call of a vehicle burglary in the 200 block of Catherine Lane at about 12:45 a.m., said Sgt. Alex Gammelgard.
According to dispatch reports, a flashlight and change had been taken from the vehicle; the caller reported hearing someone in flip-flops running away toward the hospital.
Officers searching the area found a man and a woman in possession of some items taken from the vehicle, Gammelgard said.
Gammelgard added that while in custody, the woman tried to dispose of some methamphetamine that she had hidden under the seat of the patrol vehicle.
Both of the suspects — David Sirizzotti, 33, and Julee Ann Jones, 31 — turned out to be wanted in connection with a shooting that had taken place in Dixon.
The shooting, at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, was heard by a Dixon Police officer, according to a press release issued by Dixon Police Lt. Nathan Steele.
The officer reportedly located a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene and a high-speed pursuit ensued until occupants from the vehicle stopped and fled on foot. Jason Wanderstadt, 35, of Dixon, was arrested at the scene and booked into Solano County Jail for numerous felony charges. A 30-year-old man was transported from the scene with a gunshot wound to the arm and was treated for his injuries. Another suspect, Joshua Carrera, was arrested Thursday in Sacramento County.
An arrest warrant was issued for Jones and Sirizzotti Tuesday.
Steele declined to provide any more information, citing an ongoing investigation.
After their arrest Wednesday morning, Sirizzotti was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on suspicion of attempted murder, where he was being held in lieu of $410,000 bail. He was transferred to Solano County Jail Friday.
Jones was booked into county jail on suspicion of robbery and embezzlement in relation to the Dixon case. She has been charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance locally and pleaded not guilty in Nevada County Superior Court Thursday. She is set for a preliminary hearing into the evidence Sept. 10 and is being held without bail.
