An employee of Grass Valley’s Public Works Department was arrested after allegedly pawning a number of items he stole from the department’s yard. The theft of a number of items during the night was reported Feb. 4, according to dispatch reports. The burglar made off with chainsaws and other brush-cutting equipment worth an estimated $1,400, said Grass Valley Police Sgt. Joe Matteoni. Several of those items were reported to the police department by a pawn shop in Oroville, and the pawn slips were made out to Denny Richard Joseph, a public works employee.
