A two-car accident that closed down Highway 49 for about a half-hour Wednesday night left one woman in critical condition. Gloria Dengler, 77, of Grass Valley was driving southbound on Highway 49 just north of Crestview Drive at about 6:20 p.m. when she began preparing to make a U-turn, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
