Search nets gun, meth, cocaine, marijuana

Narcotics detectives serving a search warrant at a residence on Idaho-Maryland Road Tuesday reportedly uncovered stashes of methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as a handgun, ammunition and marijuana plants.

Members of the Nevada County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Task Force served the warrant for marijuana cultivation in the 14000 block, said Sheriff Keith Royal.

Three people at the property — identified as Donald Dugan, David Brunner and Lisa Valdez — were detained while the search warrant was executed.

Deputies searching a bedroom reportedly occupied by Brunner located meth and drug paraphernalia, Royal said.

In Dugan's bedroom, they reportedly found 1.1 pounds of meth, 28.86 grams of cocaine, scales, packaging material, a loaded 40-caliber handgun and ammunition for an assault rifle. Deputies also found five or six marijuana plants outside, Royal said.

According to Royal, the potential street value of the meth was more than $30,000.
