Nevada County Police Blotter: Person says someone broke into house, left shirt on hanger

Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

7:41 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Clydesdale Court reported someone in the parking lot with a man that harassed the nighttime janitorial staff.

8:10 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported theft of a bicycle overnight.

8:38 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported a trash bag of clothing left in front of a gate.

8:52 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported someone trying to get into a vehicle. Officers found the person had permission.

9:35 a.m. — A caller from the 1100 block of East Main Street reported a man sleeping in a vehicle.

12:14 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East McKnight Way reported someone making "delusional" statements. Contact was made and the subject said he was anti-law; however, he was OK and waiting for his vehicle to cool down as he had mechanical issues. He wasn't found to be delusional.

12:44 p.m. — A caller at the police department reported someone put a shirt on a hanger in the person's front closet. The person said someone bypassed his locks and left a shirt in his closet and he knows it isn't his as he does not have metal hangers.

1:42 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of McCourtney Road reported his ex-wife's children put a clump of pine needles on his windshield. He was standing by because he didn't feel safe getting into his vehicle in case it was tampered with further.

3:07 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of East Main Street reported receiving a call from someone asking for money after saying they kidnapped the caller's parents in south Florida. The parents were fine.

4:55 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported two shoplifters in the store after attempting to steal burritos. The two juveniles were cited and released to their parents.

9:29 p.m. — A person was stopped in Grass Valley and arrested on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.

11:22 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Harris Street reported a prior house guest stealing from the caller and his mother is sleeping on his back porch. The caller wanted him to leave.

Thursday

9:07 a.m. — A person was pulled over on the 17000 block of Pioneer and arrested on charges of two counts of driving under the influence.

9:51 a.m. — A person near the intersection of South Ponderosa Way and Highway 20 reported a person driving only 45-50 miles an hour in the fast lane.

10:03 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported his ex-wife's children just broke his gate down.

11:22 a.m. — A caller reported that a previous marijuana grow site that was busted last year has begun operations again.

12:09 p.m. — A caller from Banner View Drive requested contact regarding when it's OK to use pepper spray on a dog.

2:14 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported theft from a customer's car. The victim was adamant his satchel of personal items was taken from an open window of an unlocked vehicle.

5:07 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Mallory Court reported his neighbor conducting firearm class from an illegal shooting range.

5:13 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Bloomfield Graniteville Road reported his 4-year-old child told him his ex-wife's boyfriend said he is going to shoot him.

6:06 p.m. — A person stopped near the intersection of Meadow Drive and Highway 174 was arrested on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.

6:46 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Banner Lava Cap Road reported a mare in bad shape and concerned the mare will not make it to morning. The caller said the mare gave birth and the foal appears to be in good shape but the mare appeared in grave condition. The caller had concerns for both animals and didn't believe it could wait until morning for animal control to come on duty. The horses were found to be healthy.

9:27 p.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Monitor Court reported getting harassing phone calls from a man that she filled out an application to work with and he won't stop calling her.

11:34 a.m. — A caller near the corner of Gethsemane Street and Cross Street reported someone camping out for the past four days.

2:16 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 reported hearing someone screaming for help outside. Also dogs here heard barking.

2:44 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Railroad Avenue reported theft from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

8:37 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Broad Street reported a man in a hat refusing to leave the business and causing a disturbance.

9:54 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported a man in a hat causing a disturbance.

Friday

12:31 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Broad Street reported a man in a hat coming into the business and yelling at people.

12:54 a.m. — A person on the 200 block of Commercial Street was arrested on charges of being a nuisance under the Nevada City municipal code.

8:36 a.m. — A caller reported a person out front of a story harassing customers and causing a disturbance. The caller said it was the same person what was warned the night before for harassing employees. The person was advised of being a nuisance and agreed to keep it down.
