Police blotter: Man gets in fight with shopping cart

Saturday

3:30 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Henderson Street reported hearing screaming and yelling. A be-on-the-lookout advisory was issued for an assault suspect.

8:42 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Dorsey Drive reported finding drugs.

10:41 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a man involved in a physical fight with a shopping cart who was hitting the cart and asking people for money.

1:20 p.m. — A caller from the 1200 block of East Main Street reported a drunken person foaming at the mouth, who was uncooperative with firefighters.

1:39 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported that people had cut a hole in a fence.

1:55 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported finding three syringes inside a can at the recycling center, which were collected for destruction.

2:04 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Brunswick Road reported a spot fire at a homeless camp.

5:57 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported a group of juveniles throwing pizzas at a store window and cursing, before leaving.

6:36 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Bennett Street reported a burglary, with tools and other items taken.

7:17 p.m. — A caller from the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a drunk and disorderly man refusing to leave.

9:54 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Sutton Way reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Sunday

1:09 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Mill Street reported a loud party. A girl was released to a parent and a man was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

2:08 a.m. — A caller from the 1200 block of East Main Street reported a man tried to rob a taxi driver, but the driver was able to flee.

8:37 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Canyon Lane reported a German shepherd inside an abandoned house.

10:06 a.m. — A caller from Cement Hill and Wet Hill roads reported a vehicle had been vandalized.

1:14 p.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Capitol Drive reported a man had threatened her. He said she was drunk and had been hitting him. She was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

1:18 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Walker Drive requested information on how many dogs a person can own.

3:29 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Gamble Lane reported a deer with a severed leg, which then left the area.

3:44 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Lower Colfax Road reported animal abuse.

4:15 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Columbine Court reported the theft of mail from a mailbox.

Saturday

3:42 a.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Auburn Road reported being held against her will.

9:43 a.m. — A caller from Horace and Francis drives reported a vehicle had been egged.

10:26 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Turtleback Hill reported a man who might be on drugs next to a stripped vehicle without plates that might be stolen. At 11:55 a.m., a man reported his stolen vehicle had been located on Craigslist and a friend located it on Turtleback Hill, being stripped. The case was turned over to the California Highway Patrol.

10:29 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Highway 49 reported a truck rollover.

11:54 a.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Oak Street reported an adult gave alcohol to a juvenile.

1:59 p.m. — A caller from Oak Street and Squirrel Creek Road reported a woman assaulted a 16-year-old girl, hitting her in the face and kicking her. She was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

2:05 p.m. — A caller from the 33000 block of Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported the theft of mail.

3:05 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Pasquale Road reported someone fraudulently listed a property online as a rental.

4:13 p.m. — A man from the 14000 block of Blind Shady Road reported a woman had a baseball bat and assaulted him, then was chasing him, He did not want medical attention or to press charges. She said he was trespassing and denied attacking him.

4:49 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Streeter Road reported a man in black with a ski cap was carrying a machete.

11:42 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Quaker Hill Cross Road reported a loud party with underage drinking. A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

11:58 p.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Norlene Way reported a person rattled a door knob and ran through the yard. No one was located.
