Police blotter: Trespassing cat sparks neighbor dispute


Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

8:07 a.m. — A woman from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported the theft of a purse and wallet from a vehicle last night.

8:22 a.m. — A caller from the 1400 block of Segsworth Way reported a dog locked in a vehicle overnight; this is the second time this has happened.

8:31 a.m. — A woman from the 500 block of Blight Road reported a theft from an unlocked vehicle.

8:32 a.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Stacy Lane reported a theft from a vehicle and requested extra patrols.

8:42 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of East Maryland Drive reported numerous cars had been broken into.

8:46 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Bennett Street reported numerous vehicles in the area had been gone through.

10:23 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of East Main Street requested extra patrols due to vandalism.

10:34 a.m. — A caller from the 1100 block of East Main Street re[ported the theft of two U-Haul trailers.

12:34 p.m. — A woman reported her ID was stolen and money was deposited into her account that she did not authorize.

3:01 p.m. — A man from the 700 block of West Main Street reported that a neighbor keeps feeding and locking up his cat. The neighbor said the cat had been entering through open windows, and the owner was advised to keep the cat indoors.

4:59 p.m. — A caller from Sierra College reported the theft of a gym bag from a locker.

5:06 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Brighton Street reported an argument involving 12 to 15 juveniles. A caller reported numerous people just tried to jump the caller and the caller’s family. The dispute was verbal only.

6:13 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Sutton Way reported a shoplifter, who was cited.

7:57 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of West Main Street reported a man hit a woman on the back and arm; she did not need medical attention.

9:29 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported three dogs locked in a vehicle for 24 hours.

Wednesday

3:55 a.m. — A man from the 400 block of Memorial Lane reported a man head-butted him and pulled a knife on him. He did not need medical attention. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of battery and brandishing a weapon.

8:55 a.m. — A caller from Del Mar Way reported two neglected horses.

9:56 a.,. — A caller from the 11000 block of Faraday Court reported possible identity theft.

10:26 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Foster Road reported the theft of items.

12:58 p.m. — A caller from Duggans and Lime Kiln roads reported a drunken person trying to fight other people. A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and violating probation.

1:27 p.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Mayflower Drive reported $60 in cash and change was taken from an unlocked vehicle.

2:34 p.m. — A caller from Nevada Union High School reported a theft.

2:59 p.m. — A caller from Bear River High School reported a girl had been assaulted.

3:24 p.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Pammy Way reported someone started a fire in her back yard.

4:48 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Allison Ranch Road reported hearing a man hitting a door and screaming, possibly trying to break in.

5 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Mattson Lane reported hearing about 23 gunshots; it was quiet when deputies arrived.

8:20 a.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street reported a business had been broken into.
