Police blotter: Vehicle break-ins and lots of gunfire


Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

7:41 a.m. — A man from the 700 block of Butler Street reported $3 in change was taken from an unlocked vehicle.

8:47 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported a laundry room had been broken into and money stolen.

10:05 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a possible vegetation fire. Several were admonished for camping.

10:39 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Butler Street reported a theft from a vehicle.

11:22 a.m. — A caller reported finding a bicycle in the creek at Idaho-Maryland Road and Railroad Avenue.

11:31 a.m. — A caller form the 400 block of South Church Street reported the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle.

11:44 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Packard Drive reported a vehicle had been rifled through.

1:48 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Neal Street reported identity theft.

3:18 p.m. — A woman from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man tried to hit her with his vehicle in a parking lot.

3:47 p.m. — A caller from Bank and Tinloy streets reported a man screaming and punching vehicle windows. He could not be located.

3:50 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Joerschke Drive reported someone entered an unlocked vehicle and items were strewn about.

11:01 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Main Street reported a person sleeping in the post office; the person was moving on.

Tuesday

3:14 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Stacey Lane reported a man shining a flashlight into a vehicle; he was gone when officers arrived.

Monday

8:50 a.m. — A man from the 11000 block of Red Dog Road reported his house was burglarized. The front door was smashed in and a pistol had been stolen.

10:32 a.m. — A caller from Stotler Avenue and Sweetland Road reported shooting in the middle of the night.

10:50 a.m. — A caller from Champion and Newtown roads reported shooting in the area.

10:52 a.m. — A caller from Scotten School reported a first-grader out of control.

11:50 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Ringtail Road reported receiving three fraudulent money orders from a business.

11:54 a.m. — A woman from Cook Road and Rough and Ready Highway reported bullets flying onto her property.

1:37 p.m. — A caller from Union Hill School reported a physical fight involving a student, who was released to a guardian.

2:06 p.m. — A caller from Nevada Union High School reported a 20-year-old former student on campus, who had ingested 18 pills. The student was taken to the hospital.

2:49 p.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Kingston lane reported juveniles hitting golf balls onto the school grounds.

7:10 p.m. — A caller form the 11000 block of Torrey Pines Drive reported vandalism to a lock in the door to a water system.

7:38 p.m. — A caller reported a rape, which remains under investigation.

8:42 p.m. — A caller from Wolf Road and Jennifer Drive reported a man lying in the road. He was taken to a gas station. At 8:56 p.m., a caller from the gas station reported the man was causing a disturbance and being combative with firefighters. The call was canceled, however.

9:43 p.m. — A woman from the 12000 block of Sunny Slope reported a man was beating her up. She was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

11:11 p.m. — A caller from Brooks and Lower Colfax roads reported sporadic gunshots.

11:35 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Hanley Drive reported a person yelling for help, who was taken to the hospital.

Nevada City Police Department

Monday

11:46 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Cement Hill Road reported a vehicle hit a bicyclist, and then fled the scene.

1:27 p.m. — A caller from Redbud Way reported the theft of two bicycles.
