Police blotter: Trimmers taking over

Grass Valley Police Department


8:31 a.m. – A caller from Condon Park reported a man in a red truck watching children in the play area. Nothing suspicious was found to have occurred after contacting the suspect.

9:56 a.m. - A caller from the 400 block of Central Avenue reported people living in a motor home and letting their dogs run loose. They were moving on.

12:23 p.m. – A woman from the 400 block of Clark Street reported her neighbor was using a leaf blower and forcing her to move her day-care children inside.

1:54 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported a man asking strange questions about swallowing battery acid and scaring people. He could not be located.

3:36 p.m. – A caller from the emergency room reported a victim of an assault on the 300 block of Marshall Street.

6:04 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported finding a drug needle, which was collected.

8:05 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Butler Street reported a possible trespass in a vacant residence.

8:22 p.m. – A failure to yield by a motorcycle going 100 mph was reported at Highway 49 and Cameo Drive. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies were searching, with a K-9 unit, for an item thrown out by the suspect. They had lost sight of the motorcycle at Alta Sierra.

9:21 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Carol Drive reported a woman screaming who had been freaking out. It was quiet when officers arrived.

10:05 p.m. – A man from Primrose Lane reported stopping a burglary, with a man trying to break into his truck, who fled. At 10:26 p.m., a woman nearby reported a prowler.


12:05 a.m. - A caller from the 100 block of Glasson Way reported a violent person on drugs.

2:40 a.m. - A caller from Highway 20 and Brunswick Road reported a person chasing a fawn at the exit.

9:43 a.m. – A woman from the 10000 block of Willow Valley Road reported a large black bear had been digging through her garbage twice in the last week. She was advised to keep her garbage inside and call Fish & Wildlife.

10:37 a.m. – A caller from Allison Ranch Road reported a transient camp.

11:19 a.m. – A caller reported a boy had been assaulted at Scotten School on Monday.

11:21 a.m. – A caller from the 13000 block of Belle Starr Road reported a residential burglary.

11:26 a.m. – A caller from the 10000 block of Oak Drive reported identity theft.

1:30 p.m. – A caller from the 14000 block of Krystal Kourt reported the theft of jewelry and a jewelry box.

3:08 p.m. – A caller from You Bet and Red Dog roads reported a woman passed out in a vehicle, which was running, in the middle of the road. She appeared to be under the influence and trying to leave. She then passed out again. CHP responded.

3:17 p.m. – A caller from Auburn and Hidden Valley roads reported a boy looking into people’s driveways.

3:53 p.m. – A caller from the hospital reported a victim sought treatment for an assault on Cedar Way. An emergency protective order was issued.

5:22 p.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported the theft of items.

6:47 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Loma Rica Drive reported hearing a possible crash at the air park. Nothing was located.

7:01 p.m. – A man from the 16000 block of Thornberry Way reported a bear cub treed in his back yard.

8:16 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Banner Mountain trail reported a burglary.

9:43 p.m. – A caller from the 15000 block of Wolf Mountain Road reported a fraud.


4:07 a.m. – A caller from the 24000 block of Green Valley Road reported a burglary of an unlocked vehicle.

7:40 a.m. – A caller from Taylor Crossing and Dog Bar roads reported a man camping on private property.

1:57 a.m. – A caller from Sacramento Street reported drunk and belligerent customers who were refusing to leave.


12:07 a.m. – A man from Broad Street reported that 30 people in red shirts were about to jump him and looking for a fight. He said his friend had been punched in the face.

1:04 a.m. – A caller from the hospital reported a victim receiving treatment from facial injuries inflicted in Nevada City. No report was desired.

2:32 p.m. – A woman from Mine Rock Road reported a man punched her and threatened to shoot her; she did not need medical attention.

4:34 p.m. – A caller from Nimrod Street reported gunshots or fireworks.


2:53 p.m. – A person in the emergency room reported being beat up on Broad Street on Friday.

5:01 p.m. – A caller from the Boardwalk reported the area was full of loud and suspicious people talking about trimming and making people uneasy.


2:41 p.m. – A woman on Main Street reported being followed by a van.

4:28 p.m. – A caller from Factory Street reported two squatters.

11:05 p.m. – A caller from Spring Street reported a naked man passed out in the middle of a dance floor. He was transported for medical attention.


1:47 a.m. – A caller from Commercial Street reported a person banging on a door and refusing to leave.
