Police blotter: Errant crossbow causes alarm


Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

9:08 a.m. — A caller from Richardson Street reported vandalism to a vehicle.

9:10 a.m. — A caller from Condon Park reported vandalism.

9:18 a.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported possible identity theft.

10:53 a.m. — A woman from a business in the 200 block of West Main Street reported a man being rude. She said he was walking back and forth on the sidewalk, talking on his cell phone. He came back later and was staring in the business, and told her he filed a police report against her for harassing him. She wanted him cited for loitering, but was told his actions were not illegal.

10:57 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West Main Street reported finding a box of possible burglary tools.

11:41 a.m. — A caller from Brunswick Road and Highway 49 reported possible road rage.

12:01 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a group of transients possibly selling drugs; they were gone when officers arrived.

12:37 p.m. — A man from the 100 block of Neal Street reported the theft of his red, extended-cab Ford F150 truck.

1:39 p.m. — A caller from Ridge Road and Ventana Sierra Drive reported a large group of juveniles talking about a pending fight. A juvenile was cited and returned to school.

2 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a shoplifter, who was cited.

6:16 p.m. — A woman from Bennett and Ophir streets reported an assault; no medical aid was needed.

Tuesday

12:24 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Main Street reported a man in black on the roof of a business; no one was located.

5:11 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Miners Trail reported a person with a flashlight in her back yard.

Monday

8:25 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 10000 block of Combie Road reported vandalism with a rock.

12 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Carrie Drive reported an assault.

12:22 p.m. — A caller from Wolf Mountain Road reported three juveniles trespassing on fenced property; they then were spotted on the roof of the tower. Three juveniles were cited and one adult arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

12:28 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Julia Ranch Road reported the theft of more than 30 gallons of gas from two ranch trucks.

12:51 p.m. — A caller from the 21000 block of Full Moon Court reported the theft of a generator and other items from an unlocked garage.

12:56 p.m. — A man from the 16000 block of Lower Colfax Road reported a dog attacked his dog.

12:58 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported rentals of items by two different people that had not been returned.

4:24 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Francis drive reported an arrow into a residence. A neighboring teenager was found to have accidentally lost a crossbow while practicing. No criminal charges were desired.

7:16 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Little Deer Creek Lane reported a man was threatening to shoot people, and was beating on something with an axe. He could not be located.

10:31 p.m. — A man from the 14000 block of Nimbus Dam Road reported people on his property with flashlights.

10:41 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Oak Drive reported hearing a man screaming; nothing was located.

11:08 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported locking a baby in a vehicle with his keys inside.

Monday

6:03 p.m. — A caller from Argall Way reported a girl looking in vehicles; she could not be located.

6:35 p.m. — A man from Orchard Street reported being assaulted, but did not need medical attention.
