Police blotter: $50,000 lost in a scam


Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday

1:22 p.m. — A woman from the 200 block of Vistamont Drive reported eggs were thrown at her house and damaged the front door.

1:52 p.m. — A woman from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported a man was throwing items off a balcony. Another call was made at 2:19 p.m.

2:13 p.m. — A caller from Hughes Road and Rockwood Drive reported someone dropped concrete along the road that caused a hazard. Public Works cleaned it up.

2:45 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a theft.

4:34 p.m. — A caller from the hospital reported the victim of an assault on Dorsey Drive.

7:03 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Whiting Street reported a very drunk man had been staying in a vacant residence and was now urinating on a tree in the back yard with his pants on the ground. He left.

7:23 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a man trying to break a front window of a store with a rock.

9:13 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Quaker Hill Cross Road reported a girl walking around in the nude.

11:36 a.m. — A caller reported possible child abuse on Owl Road.

12:32 p.m. — A man from Madrone Springs and Conservations roads reported a rock was thrown through the window of a Jeep, and a battery and two tires were stolen.

12:39 p.m. — A caller from Edwards Crossing reported vandalism to a vehicle.

1:21 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pine Hill Drive reported a woman lost $50,000 in a scam.

2:17 p.m. — A caller from Valley View and Banner Lava Cap roads reported a bear.

2:19 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Devonshire Circle requested extra patrols due to mailboxes being vandalized.

3:20 p.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Capitol Drive reported a possible residential burglary with a door kicked in.

6:35 p.m. — A caller from Rollins Lake reported a jet ski almost hit several people but now was leaving.

6:42 p.m. — A caller from Boulder Street and Willow Valley Road reported an SUV driving up Deer Creek in the water.

11:14 p.m. — A caller from the 22000 block of Jennifer Drive reported finding items that had been missing and papers laid out from the front door to a bedroom, signed with a fraudulent signature.

Monday

12:01 a.m. — A caller from Wildflower and Lake Wildwood drives reported graffiti in a park restroom.

6:14 a.m. — A man from the 18000 block of You Bet Road reported catching two men trying to break in to his vehicle; they fled in a vehicle.

11:37 p.m. — A man from Wiggens Way reported being defrauded by his landlord, and living in a barn with cattle.

Saturday

7:32 a.m. — A caller from Coyote Street reported several vehicles had been broken into.

9:41 a.m. — A caller from broad Street reported the theft of items from a vehicle.

Sunday

1:20 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Commercial Street reported a person had been punched in the head and was unconscious. A report was taken.

12:46 p.m. — A caller from Nimrod Street reported people smoking drugs from a bong.

3:06 p.m. — A woman from Willow Valley Road reported fraudulent activity on her checking account.
