Police blotter: Lonely drunken man just needs a friend


Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

8:16 a.m. — A caller from Condon Park reported vandalism to the main building and the bathrooms.

8:45 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of North Church Street reported a man tried to kill a woman by choking her. A report was taken.

9:04 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Washington Street reported vandalism to mailboxes and vehicles.

9:12 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Pleasant Street requested extra patrols due to ongoing vandalism.

10:41 a.m. — A woman from the 200 block of North Auburn Street reported her cat was missing, as were other cats in the area.

11:28 a.m. — A woman from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported the possible theft of a purse.

12:48 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported a man had been punching a woman in the leg and threatening to break her phone. A welfare check was requested.

4:28 p.m. — A man from the 1000 block of East Main Street reported a man driving a red Cadillac had been chasing him through town all day. He did not want to file a report.

7:22 p.m. — A caller from Henderson Street reported a man and woman ducking and hiding when someone goes by. They could not be located.

8:40 p.m. — A caller from Dorsey Drive and East Main Street reported juveniles trying to get into vehicles for sale. No one was located.

8:44 p.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of East Main Street reported a man in a “disguise” beard was in a vehicle taking pictures of staff members.

11:20 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of St. Patrick’s Drive reported a dog barking for 10 hours. The owners were bringing the dog in.

Thursday

1:24 a.m. — An assault victim refused to provide a name or file a report.

5:30 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported a man throwing rocks at a window and knocking on the door, He was gone when officers arrived.

5:49 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported a man camping in a field. He was moving on.

8:24 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pekolee Drive reported constant dumping on private property.

8:29 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Lazy Valley Road reported a fox attacking his chickens.

8:34 a.m. — A caller from the 24000 block of Table Meadow Road reported a crowing rooster.

9:10 a.m. — A man from the 23000 block of Lakeview Court reported vandalism and burglary to a vehicle and the theft of a golf cart battery and other items from a residence.

10:30 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Magnolia Road reported vandalism to the football field.

10:45 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Lakeshore South reported an attempted theft.

12:22 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Tumbling Creek Road reported three pit bulls chasing animals around. They could not be located.

1:02 p.m. — A man from the 29000 block of Highway 49 reported a person hit a woman, who was bleeding. She did not need medical attention.

1:07 p.m. — A man from the 24000 block of Oro Valley Road reported the theft of prescription pills.

1:31 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Picton Way reported a fight between a dog and a coyote.

3:11 p.m. — A caller from Champion Road and Old Downieville Highway reported two or three people in a camper with dogs. They could not be located.

4:17 p.m. — A woman from the 14000 block of Rodeo Way reported a 11-year-old child was throwing rocks at her.

6:20 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Crestview Drive reported a petty theft issue involving a girl.

7:36 p.m. — A man from Oscar Drive reported he was lonely and just wants a friend. He sounded very drunk. He called back at 8:12 p.m. and wanted a friend to visit him because he was lonely. He called again at 8:27 p.m. and wanted to know when a deputy was coming by. He was advised no friends tonight.

7:42 p.m. — A man from the 23000 block of Sequoia Court reported a burglary to a vehicle.

9:43 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Wolf Road reported a person stole $200. A report was taken.

9:49 p.m. — A man from the 11000 block of Fairy Ring Mushroom Court reported his neighbor’s goat keeps coming over and head-butting his dog, who is injured. He told the neighbor to keep the goat off his property and was threatened.

10:31 p.m. — A caller from East Bennett and Brunswick roads reported a large bonfire in a transient camp. It was construction lights.

Thursday

12:01 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Commercial Avenue reported a vehicle partially through a roll-up door and a woman passed out in the bathroom.

1:17 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Quaker Hill Cross Road reported a passenger passed out in a taxi. The person had been picked up at the hospital, and was taken back. At 4 a.m. the hospital reported the person was ready to be released but was still drunk. They were advised it was no longer a county issue.

6:54 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Broken Oak Court reported a man passed out on the curb. People had kicked him and he was unresponsive.

Wednesday

6:18 p.m. — A caller from Broad Street reported the theft of a wallet, checkbook and passport.

Thursday

12:46 a.m. — A caller from Commercial Street reported multiple physical fights in the street. A person was taken to the hospital.
