Police blotter: Man stranded by mountain lion


Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

8:40 a.m. — A caller from Memorial Park reported someone shot the barbecue with pink paint balls.

11:23 a.m. — A woman from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported her child’s black mountain bike had been stolen over the weekend.

12:18 p.m. — A caller from the 900 block of Golden Gate Terrace reported a man cut the fence to a storage facility.

12:45 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Catherine Lane reported five to 10 transients living on hospital property. A camp was located but no one was there.

2:04 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Main Street reported transient issues and vandalism, with someone cutting a city lot fence to access a building.

2:13 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported two juveniles possibly drinking and urinating on the building. One was detained and the other ran away; no charges were desired.

7:28 p.m. — A woman from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported she had arsenic poisoning, then said she had a hard life and just needed to talk to someone.

8:40 p.m. — A caller from Slate Creek and Ridge roads reported several juveniles smoking pot and looking at the view. They could not be located.

8:40 p.m. — A woman from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported the theft of a fanny pack.

9:42 p.m. — A caller from Brighton Street and McCourtney Road reported a person lying on the ground, who was advised of the camping ordinance.

10:53 p.m. — A caller from Central Avenue and Oak Street reported two vehicles possibly dealing drugs. No one was located.

Tuesday

2:05 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Joerschke Drive reported a man was drunken and put his hands on a girl’s throat. A report was taken.

8:52 a.m. — A man reported the possible theft of a front license plate.

12:54 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Highway 49 reported a transient might be staying in a vacant house. The residence was secured.

12:54 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported two smoldering piles.

12:55 p.m. — A 9-year-old girl from the 10000 block of Lazy Valley Road reported being scared because no one was at the house and she thought they might have left her. Her father was located on the property.

2:09 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of McCourtney Road reported a person on the roof of a school. The issue was resolved with the suspect’s parents.

2:15 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Quincy Lane reported identity theft causing a $3,000 debt.

3:02 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Pasquale Road reported a neighbor was violating a court order and trespassing.

3:54 p.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Lightfoot Way reported an email scam causing a virus and hacking, which the company then tries to charge $300 to fix.

4:38 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Melody Road reported a black Maverick shotgun might have fallen off the top of his Jeep and now is missing.

5:01 p.m. — A caller from Arizona reported a possible crime ring in Nevada County.

5:09 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Pine Hill Drive reported a possible residential burglary.

5:16 p.m. — A man from the 13000 block of Noel Lane reported a mountain lion under his vehicle. There were no Fish and Wildlife wardens available.

6:04 p.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Summit Ridge Drive reported a missing .45 pistol.

6:50 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Broken Oak Court reported a physical fight involving a man and a woman with a baseball bat, who was threatening to kill the man because he struck her in front of the children. The caller then said the woman appeared to be defending herself after the man struck her. He was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse and damaging a phone.

9:24 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Shady Forest Lane reported an out-of-control burn pile.

10:45 p.m. — A woman from the 18000 block of Lake Forest Drive reported a man stealing things and threatening her, punching holes in the wall.

Tuesday

12:26 a.m. — A woman from the 14000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported hearing someone kick in a gate and then heard noises from a storage shed.

2:45 a.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Oak Hollow Circle reported a traffic collision, with all the occupants being intoxicated. A man’s head had gone into the windshield and was unconscious. A person was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center and another was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital; no further information was available.

4:09 a.m. — A man from the 16000 block of Easy Street reported someone moved his garbage cans.

4:16 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Lake Wildwood Drive reported a belligerent drunken person in the back yard of a residence.

7 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Cement Hill Road reported a mailbox had been knocked off its stand.

Monday

9:02 a.m. — A caller from Broad and Union streets reported a theft.

10:16 a.m. — A caller from Broad and Sacramento streets reported a woman crying and screaming, and chasing a man down the street. It was a verbal argument.

10:43 p.m. — A caller from North Pine Street reported people howling and yelling.
