Police blotter: No free ride from taxi driver


Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday

8:53 a.m. — A caller from South Church Street reported a man with a gun threatening a family. A caller said the same man pepper-sprayed his dog and left the area on foot. He could not be located.

9:07 a.m. — A man from the 100 block of East Main Street reported the theft of a cell phone last night.

10:33 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Lucas Lane reported a door to a garage was broken and hand tools were missing.

12:13 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Morgan Ranch Drive reported a vehicle had been egged and urinated on.

4:08 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane requested a welfare check on a transient who appeared to have been assaulted; he could not be located.

4:30 p.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a person with an accidental gunshot wound to the hand. A report was taken.

7:57 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Joerschke Drive reported a dumpster on fire.

11:11 p.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Bennett Street reported hearing someone in the neighbor’s back yard.

Monday

1:02 a.m. — A caller from the hospital reported a person banging on the walls of the emergency unit, then spraying water everywhere.

3:06 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Conaway Avenue reported a man had been knocking in the door for 15 minutes, then left.

3:46 a.m. — A woman reported her vehicle had been stolen, then hung up.

9:11 a.m. — A woman from the 12000 block of Butterfly Drive reported an attempted burglary to a vehicle.

9:24 a.m. — A caller fro Butterfly Drive reported a vehicle was stolen.

11:24 a.m. — A woman from Terren Court reported a taxi driver offered her a free ride home, then made advances, tried to kiss her and offered to smoke pot with her.

12:37 p.m. — A caller from the 40000 block of Highway 20 reported the theft of brass valves off fire hydrants.

3:31 p.m. — A caller from Bitney Springs Road and Sleepy Hollow Way reported promiscuous shooting.

4:33 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Shekinah Hill Road reported a man hit him; it was a civil issue.

6:13 p.m. — A caller from Washington Park reported six to eight people drinking, yelling and threatening people; they were gone when deputies arrived.

6:23 p.m. — A caller from Beale Falls reported 10 to 15 people causing a disturbance. A man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure.

7:55 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Lee Crest Court reported a person living in a shed, currently screaming and yelling. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, violating probation and resisting arrest.

8:32 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Walker Drive reported a tree had fallen across power lines.

8:47 p.m. — A caller fro Highway 49 and Alta Sierra Drive reported road rage.

8:56 p.m. — A caller from the 21000 block of Dog Bar Road reported a man running through a back yard, yelling someone was trying to rob him. He then was yelling, “I’m not playing with you, I’m going to get you.” He could not be located. At 10:24 p.m., the caller reported the man was still in the back yard looking for something. He still could not be located.

10:57 p.m. — A woman from the 15000 block of Names Drive reported being kidnapped several days ago and drugged with meth. A report was taken.

Monday

6:13 a.m. — A woman from La Barr Meadows Road reported her husband beat her up, broke her phone, and head-butted her before preventing her from leaving. A be-on-the-lookout advisory was issued for the man.

12:40 p.m. — A caller from Nimrod Street reported an attempted burglary to the snack shack.

2:22 p.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street reported the theft of a computer from a bicycle.

3:15 p.m. — A caller from Gold Flat Road reported a residential burglary.

5:40 p.m. — A woman from Zion Street reported seeing a man on a stolen bicycle; he was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of stolen property.
