Police blotter: Runaway sheep, assault with beer bottle


Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

8:26 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Stennett Street reported hearing a woman screaming and items being broken. It was a verbal dispute.

8:52 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East McKnight Way reported an attempted burglary to a business.

10:22 a.m. — A woman from Holly Drive reported people trying to vandalize her vehicle repeatedly.

10:29 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Park Avenue reported the theft of a computer over the weekend.

10:55 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Springhill Drive reported finding drugs belonging to a former employee; personnel files and gift cards were missing. A baggie of suspected meth was collected for destruction.

1:23 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College drive reported receiving counterfeit bills.

2:01 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of Joerschke Drive reported check fraud.

2:28 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of West Main Street reported a pickup hit a bicycle, with no injuries reported.

2:48 p.m. — A man from the 500 block of Crown Point Circle reported a woman struck him in the face five times last night.

3:17 p.m. — A caller from East Main Street and Scandling Avenue reported a man in a hospital gown, carrying a crutch and with a large bandage on his arm, walking down the street.

4:51 p.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Park Avenue reported her son was drunk and pounding on the door. Both were “highly” drunk. She wanted him arrested, then wanted the officer to order him to go to bed. The situation was mediated as much as possible.

5:31 p.m. — A caller from Freeman Lane and McCourtney Road reported a stolen vehicle. It was located and had rolled down the parking lot, over the curb and into Wolf Creek.

7:08 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Clark Street reported four juveniles trying to break a sensor off a bottle of alcohol, which might have been shoplifted.

9:01 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Ophir Street reported the theft of items.

10:58 p.m. — A caller from Pine and Race streets reported a may spray-painting a stop sign, who was cited on unknown charges.

Tuesday

1:59 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported people just vandalized a vehicle with a baseball bat, then left the scene.

8:12 a.m. — A caller from McCourtney Road reported a male student who was out of control; he was arrested on unknown charges.

8:55 a.m. — A caller from Sterling Court reported identity theft.

9:03 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Ironclad Road reported two runaway sheep.

10:10 a.m. — A man from the 26000 block of Sweetland Road reported vandalism to a fence.

10:35 a.m. — A man from the 13000 block of Clancy Way reported a residential burglary.

12:07 p.m. — A caller reported that a person from Sierra Circle had written a bad check.

12:17 p.m. — A caller reported possible squatters in a residence in the 10000 block of Lombardi Road.

12:47 p.m. — A caller from Hells Half Acre reported illegal woodcutting and the theft of trees.

3:08 p.m. — A caller from Juvenile Hall reported being spit on by an inmate.

3:14 p.m. — A girl from Brown Stone Street reported physical abuse.

3:34 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of You Bet Road reported a residential burglary with the front door kicked in.

4:02 p.m. — A caller from Alta Street and Ridge Road reported a woman who seemed very intoxicated, who then was passed out in the bushes. A friend picked her up.

4:06 p.m. — A man from the 11000 block of Squirrel Creek Road reported two men in his back yard who might have been under the influence, who then left.

4:17 p.m. — A caller from ready Springs School reported juveniles riding bikes and causing a safety hazard, refusing to leave.

4:39 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Hutto Road reported a vehicle’s windshield and headlights were shot out with a BB gun.

4:43 p.m. — A caller from Rex Reservoir Road and Rough and Ready Highway reported illegal dumping.

4:51 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Nellie Shaw Lane reported squatters.

5:46 p.m. — A woman from the 20000 block of Dog Bar Road reported a neighbor’s pit bull pulled her dog through a fence.

6:30 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Crestview Drive reported his dog was attacked by other dogs.

7:29 p.m. — A man from Scotts Valley and Willow Valley roads reported his vehicle was shot by a paintball.

7:49 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Jones Bar Road reported a residential burglary with beer and food missing.

8:32 p.m. — A caller from the 23000 block of Cypress Point Court reported a physical fight, with a woman hitting a man in the back of the head with a beer bottle. She was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

8:37 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Nimbus Dam Road reported a drunken man running around screaming, with a chainsaw. Shots also were heard. The man agreed to stop working for the night.

8:45 p.m. — A woman from Combie Road reported two boys were approached and grabbed by a man. When the boy pulled away, the man laughed and said, “Almost got you,” then walked away. He was described as having grey hair and driving a blue Jeep Cherokee.

11:31 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Dog Bar Road reported six gunshots. No one was located.

Tuesday

5:13 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Quail Creek Road reported a man took items from a barn and left.

7:15 a.m. — A caller from Via Vista and Ridge Road reported two boys possibly were selling drugs; no one wad located.
