Police blotter: Suspicious tarps, woman on a rampage


Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

8:03 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Mill Street reported a possible fraud.

11:18 a.m. — A caller from Mill Street reported five men trying to pawn items; everything checked out.

11:49 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Second Street reported finding a needle in a field.

1:43 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported the theft of a 4Runner. A be-on-the-lookout advisory was issued.

2:22 p.m. — A caller from South Auburn Street and Colfax Avenue reported four women possibly about to start a physical fight.

2:23 p.m. — A caller reported identity theft.

3:12 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported a possible fraud.

4:09 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported a girl breaking items. Social workers were on the scene.

5 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of East Main Street reported two women and a man who shoplifted from a store.

6:47 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of South Auburn Street reported a dog left in an apartment four days ago; barking was heard and there was no answer at the door. Animal Control was to follow up.

6:49 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Sutton Way reported a shoplifter in custody who reportedly stole face creams.

7:06 p.m. — A caller from Freeman Lane reported a person possibly took a basket of groceries.

8:03 p.m. — A man from the 900 block of West Main Street reported his wife had been on a rampage for two weeks and had poured beer in his lap; he wanted to know what his right were.

8:13 p.m. — A caller from Litton Hill reported a man possibly camping in the area with a boy who appeared hungry and on drugs.

8:19 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of North Church Street reported a person shining a flashlight into vehicles.

8:23 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a girl tried to steal a bottle of liquor and fled.

9:08 p.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man stole alcohol from a store.

10:51 p.m. — A caller from the 1200 block of East Main Street reported a woman refusing to leave who seemed under the influenced of drugs. She was arrested on unknown charges.

Wednesday

8:53 a.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported a man was putting possibly stolen goods into a vehicle.

10:11 a.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Charles Drive reported the theft of a DVD player.

10:32 a.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Highway 174 reported a burglary to a residence, with a purse missing.

11:02 a.m. — A caller from Highway 49 reported a person picked up a Milhous resident and took off in a pickup. The juvenile was spotted in Grass Valley, trying to hitchhike. He then was seen getting into a vehicle. A missing persons reports was filed.

11:28 p.m. — A caller from the 23000 block of Woodhaven Place reported the theft of fishing poles and a tackle box.

12:15 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Chatsworth Lane reported identity theft.

1:31 p.m. — A caller reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill.

3:33 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Oscar Drive reported mail fraud; no crime was found to have occurred.

3:48 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Thiel Way reported a person breaking items; it was a civil issue.

6:02 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Keenan Way reported a sewer leak; Environmental Health was called.

6:26 p.m. — A man from the 14000 block of Highway 174 reported a woman entered a residence and broke some items.

6:48 p.m. — A man from the 10000 block of Wild Turkey Lane reported that after a verbal dispute, people followed him to his residence and had been waiting at the end of his driveway for an over an hour. He said that after he told them he would call the police, he heard a gunshot. The situation was mediated.

Thursday

12:34 a.m. — A caller from Tammy Way reported an ongoing problem with people knocking on the door in the middle of the night; nothing was located.

1:17 a.m. — A caller from Dog Bar Road reported a fight; a woman said she was grabbed and thrown to the ground, but did not want to file charges.

4:13 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of North Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported a vehicle on its side, with nobody inside. A man called to report he overturned his vehicle and walked home.

Wednesday

6:06 p.m. — A caller from Broad and Commercial streets reported a tarp with “unusual activity.” No tarp was found.

Thursday

5:41 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sacramento Street reported a car with its lights on and a person slumped at the wheel. The man was advised to get a licensed driver to pick him up.
