Transients, Pit bulls and fraud


GRASS VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Monday

7:03 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Bank Street reported a transient subject going through a Dumpster.

7:15 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Brunswick Road reported a transient subject sleeping in front of the business.

7:46 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Church Street reported a male subject videotaping children as they arrive at school.

8:12 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Colfax Avenue reported an attempted burglary to a residence where the window panes in the front door were broken and a subject was seen running away.

9:43 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported someone on the roof of the business.

12:28 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 near Mill Street reported a pit bull mix running in the area with a collar and tag attached.

1:19 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Colfax Avenue reported a friendly pit bull puppy in her shop.

2:30 p.m. — A caller from East Maryland Drive and Kidder Avenue reported a subject that had been shooting a shotgun three times.

2:42 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive reported a maroon four-door PT Cruiser, which may be stolen.

2:43 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sierra College Drive reported receiving a counterfeit $10 bill.

4:14 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Richardson Street reported that her water is brown.

5:23 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Nimrod Street reported she was at the park and her car was vandalized.

6:14 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported a man in his mid-20s washing people’s windshields without asking and then demanding money.

6:38 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported she believes her Kindle was stolen from that location and an unknown subject made significant, unauthorized charges on her account.

8:36 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a large group of male and female transients drinking.

9:26 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported theft of a wallet from a store.

Tuesday

3:19 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Horizon Circle reported hearing a strange noise and observed a woman in the backyard, whom he chased with a flashlight.

Monday

8:24 a.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Long Branch Court reported ongoing suspicious activity at a vacant, foreclosed property.

9:03 a.m. — A caller from Steephollow Creek reported numerous subjects camping in the area, riding four-wheelers on private property, who cut two locks to gain access to the area.

9:57 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported three dogs in a pen at a vacant residence that were dropped off over the weekend.

10:43 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Providence Mine Road reported her fences have frequently been cut and she has been having lots of trespassers.

10:58 a.m. — A caller from Washington and Alpha roads reported subjects drinking in the park, making a lot of noise and sounding like farm animals.

12:01 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of La Barr Meadows Road reported a fraud that occurred with his employer.

12:13 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Gibboney Lane reported a dog bite.

12:24 p.m. — A caller from Ridge Road and Via Vista reported a white Toyota Corolla driving recklessly and that the female driver ran a stop sign.

1:08 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of McCourtney Road reported a pit bull-type dog on the loose that was “kind of hostile.”

2:32 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Highway 174 reported a welfare check on a horse that is in mud and shade without sun all day.

3:02 p.m. — A caller reported being lost in the mountains in the Verdi area.

3:37 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Norlene Way reported graffiti on a mail box.

3:58 p.m. — A caller from Gold Drive and Squirrel Creek Road reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the bushes on Gold Drive, occupied by an older male driver.

4:32 p.m. — A caller from Penn Valley Drive reported suspicious subjects in three separate vehicles in the parking lot that were possibly taking illegal substances.

5:11 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Highway 49 reported in a very slow voice, “I’m in trouble,” and then disconnected.

5:21 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Travertine Court reported she just got home and items were stolen from the residence.

5:22 p.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Lakeview Drive reported his grandson stated he was in jail in the Philippines, sent the alleged grandson approximately $2,892 for bail and discovered it was fraud.

5:46 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Daisy Blue Mine Road reported two pit bulls just attacked a neighbor’s dog that was “very injured.”

7:56 p.m. — A caller from Bitney Springs Road and Lone Lobo Trail reported a possible small pile of embers on the side of the roadway.

Tuesday

1:02 a.m. — A caller from the 7000 block of Highlands View Road reported three suspicious males in their 20s looking into vehicles in the complex.

Monday

4:30 p.m. — A caller from Zion Street and Ridge Road reported a male subject counting out dollar bills to a juvenile subject.

5:33 p.m. — A caller from Pioneer Park reported a call from a woman who said a man was doing something in front of children and then hung up.

7:37 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Sacramento Street reported two subjects locked in the bathroom for at least 45 minutes, possibly doing and/or selling illegal substances.
