Police blotter: Jan. 3, 2013


Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

12:25 a.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Manor Drive reported shots or fireworks.

1:45 a.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Walsh Street reported a fight. A woman was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse and violating probation.

3:28 a.m. — A man from the 300 block of Mill Street reported a woman assaulted him.

3:15 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of South Auburn Street reported a burglary to a vehicle, with a wallet and iPod taken.

3:30 p.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a man asked her for money and when she refused, he tried to hit her and bite her. No physical assault was found to have occurred.

3:51 p.m. — A caller from East Main Street and Sierra College Drive reported an assault.

3:55 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Old Tunnel Road reported an unconscious person on the side of the road. The man had just been released from the hospital for frost bite and was walking home, but needed to rest.

4:16 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported a man on top of a pile of used mattresses, who left. The caller found a rag soaked with gas on top of the pile and was concerned the man had been trying to start a fire.

5:28 p.m. — A caller from Idaho-Maryland Road and Railroad Avenue reported three high-speed motorcycles; the CHP was trying to overtake them.

9:49 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported five juveniles were at a store and just bought a large amount of toilet paper and eggs.

10:13 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and West McKnight Way reported a man kept running across the road in front of cars. He was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest.

Tuesday

10:08 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Shannon Way reported a vehicle burglary last night.

1:31 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Flume Street reported promiscuous shooting, yelling and screaming. Several people had been having a party, but nothing suspicious was located.

2:06 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Wolf Drive reported a dispute with a neighbor stepping n front of a tractor and intimidating children. The situation was semi-mediated.

2:18 p.m. — A woman from the 11000 block of Elnora Drive reported a man intentionally scared her horse in an attempt to cause an accident, before leaving.

2:56 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Uren Street reported the theft of a business phone from an unlocked vehicle.

2:56 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Deer Park Drive reported a theft from an unlocked vehicle.

3:25 p.m. — A caller from Via Vista and Ridge Road reported a fight between a man and a woman, with the man swinging at the woman and the woman chasing him. A woman was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

3:53 p.m. — A man in the emergency room reported an assault on Mystic Mine Road.

5:31 p.m. — A caller from Creekview Drive and Retrac Way reported a fight that possibly was physical. It was quiet when deputies arrived.

5:38 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Brunswick Drive reported someone tried to break in the front door, used a chair to get in through a sliding window, and used an axe to break into a shed and into a padlocked room.

6:19 p.m. — A caller from Bitney Springs and Scarlett Oaks roads reported a vehicle rollover, with no injuries.

11:12 p.m. — A caller from Mill Creek reported gunshots.

Tuesday

9:19 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Sacramento Street reported a man hiding and possibly trying to commit a burglary; he could not be located.

11:21 p.m. — A woman from the 100 block of Grove Street reported a vehicle had been broken into and items of jewelry taken.
