A man in a vehicle that was reportedly speeding on Highway 20 Tuesday night ended up in jail on honey oil manufacturing charges.
A California Highway Patrol officer with a K-9 stopped the vehicle, which was doing at least 80 mph, west of Pleasant Valley Road at about 6:30 p.m., said CHP Officer Greg Tassone.
The officer found about 10 butane canisters, several of which were empty, as well as glassware and tubes commonly used to make honey oil, Tassone said.
He also reportedly found a large amount of processed marijuana in a variety of containers, including a metal canister, a plastic tote, a glass canning jar and a bag, as well as some prescription medication.
The passenger, identified as Jeremiah James Macias, 27, of Medford, Ore., was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana and manufacturing a controlled substance, and was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail. The driver was not arrested.
