Police blotter: Caller reports being given finger for no reason


Grass Valley Police Department

Saturday

8:01 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of North School Street reported someone opened her console and dash in her vehicle.

9:36 a.m. — A woman from the 300 block of North School Street reported more than $1,000 was stolen from her vehicle.

10:41 a.m. — A caller from East Main and Richardson reported a woman was driving with a baby in her lap. She could not be located.

10:43 p.m. — A man said he pocket-dialed, then was cursing at his phone for calling 911.

11:23 a.m. — A man from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported an employee had shoplifted; the person was cited.

1:18 p.m. — A caller from the 700 block of Freeman Lane reported a male driver gave the caller the finger for no reason.

2:28 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Harris Street reported a party with people shouting and throwing things; a group of juveniles was chased off.

2:59 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of South Auburn Street reported a man tried a neighbor’s door and then left; he could not be located.

10:08 p.m. — A caller from Pleasant Street reported a foster child ran away, possibly on her way to a party, leaving her 4-month-old baby behind. A missing persons report was taken.

11:33 p.m. — A caller from the 1800 block of East Main Street reported loud music.

11:34 p.m. — A caller from North Church Street and Doris Drive reported a loud party. At 1:14 a.m., a caller reported two loud parties in the area, one on Bernice Drive and the other on June Drive.

12:10 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of South Auburn Street reported the theft of a stereo and GPS from an unlocked vehicle.

8 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported a man with an apparent stab wound who was leaving a blood trail. A report was taken.

Sunday

8:57 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Gaston Road reported a woman caused a major disturbance the day before, breaking glass and yelling.

9 a.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Sunset Way reported the theft of tools from an open garage and an unlocked truck toolbox.

3:08 p.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Gold Flat Road reported a man was throwing items at her. The situation was mediated.

4:01 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Sun Forest Drive reported a bleeding turkey, which was gone when a deputy arrived.

5:11 p.m. — A woman from the 16000 block of Bitney Springs Road reported she was assaulted by a man last night and this morning. At 6:25 p.m., a caller from the 11000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported the man was at a store to talk to the victim. He then left.

7:34 p.m. — A woman from Hidden Valley and Auburn roads reported the theft of a road sign worth about $40.

9:42 p.m. — A caller from Melody Road and Highway 20 reported a neighbor shooting off fireworks.

1:10 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Railroad Avenue reported a group of people sleeping, who could not be located.

10:06 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported an assault.

Friday

5:13 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Nimrod Street reported a fight between two men, one of whom was pinned to the ground. It was a staff member from a youth center holding a juvenile down.

11:36 p.m. — A caller from the 500 block of North Pine Street reported a dog barking for hours.

Saturday

4:02 p.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of North Pine Street reported a woman stole many items.

Sunday

12:35 a.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and Gold Flat Road reported hitting a bear with a vehicle; the bear got up and ran away. It could not be located.

5:27 a.m. — A caller from Sacramento Street and Railroad Avenue reported a loud explosion in the area.
