Blotter: Loose roosters, snipers in trees and claims of maiming


Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

9:08 a.m. — A caller from the 500 block of Sutton Way reported a truck had been broken into and a gas can, the registration and other items were taken.

11:48 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Sutton Way reported the theft of a vehicle, which was subsequently located in a different part of the parking lot. It might have been a prank.

1:26 p.m. — A caller from Silver Springs High School reported a theft.

5:29 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported a juvenile got out of a vehicle, struck another person and took off.

6:21 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of South Auburn Street reported a man carrying a scooter was trespassing in the caller’s back yard, and was run off.

7:27 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported a man tried to steal food and then fled.

7:39 p.m. — A man from the 100 block of South Church Street reported he dropped a friend off and he stole silver from the back of his truck.

8:33 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Bank Street reported a man looking into vehicles.

9:18 a.m. — A juvenile at Nevada Union High School was cited on suspicion of battery.

9:24 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Rough and Ready Road reported a loose rooster, which was gone when a deputy arrived.

9:41 a.m. — A caller from the 18000 block of Fair Oaks Drive reported a fraud.

9:57 a,n, — A caller from a business in the 16000 block of Mt. Olive Road reported the theft of money from a cash register.

10:37 a.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Zeibright Road reported a trespasser who was loading property onto a trailer. No charges were desired.

11:59 a.m. — A caller from the 15000 block of Sky Pines Road reported a possible scam from a “senior protection citizen group.”

1:14 p.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Avian Place reported possible elder abuse.

1:17 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Rough and Ready Road reported a possible computer scam.

1:18 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Tammy Way reported 2-year-old children accidentally locked in a vehicle.

1:19 p.m. — A caller from Highway 49 and Lime Kiln Road reported two vehicles racing.

2:15 p.m. — A caller from Jasper Agate Court and Red Dog Road reported a man talking to a wall.

4:35 p.m. — A woman from the 27000 block of Blue Sage Way reported having been assaulted. She did not need medical help. A man was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

5:57 p.m. — A woman from the 16000 block of Fritillary Way reported two pitbulls just killed her rabbit.

6:25 p.m. — A woman from the 10000 block of Peardon Road reported a boy was breaking items and was being verbally aggressive. He was to report to his probation officer.

7:16 p.m. — A caller from Myrna Drive reported a man yelling about snipers in the trees and $500,000 that is owed to him. A man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

7:59 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of James Lane reported a runaway boy broke into a residence, pushed a woman and fled. A vandalism report was taken.

9:57 p.m. — A woman from Taylor Crossing and Dog Bar roads reported a man tried to choke her and left. A BOLO was issued.

10:16 p.m. — A woman from Greenhorn Road reported her gun was stolen while she was in the “puff unit.” She then said she was molested, maimed and was in the Secret Service, and yelled expletives before hanging up.

11:07 p.m. — A man from the 11000 block of Black Road reported receiving suspicious phone calls and vehicles driving by. He said he was shot at several days ago.
