Police blotter: Cat litter stolen, errant golf ball damages residence


Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

8:19 a.m. — A woman from the 900 block of West Main Street reported the theft of a purse from an unlocked vehicle last night.

10:26 a.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported the possible fraudulent use of a business account.

11:56 a.m. — A caller from Silver Springs High School requested a juvenile be cited for theft.

1:19 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported people smoking marijuana. A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public, violating probation and outstanding warrants.

2:47 p.m. — A caller from Race and Clark streets reported a 2- to 3-year-old boy wandering in the street. The mother showed up and retrieved the child.

3:54 p.m. — A caller from East Main Street and West Berryhill Drive reported possible road rage.

6:13 p.m. — A man from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported his briefcase was stolen after he left it outside briefly.

9:31 a.m. — A caller from the 13000 block of Golden Star Road reported identity theft.

9:34 a.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Cook Road reported neglected and malnourished horses.

10:07 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Alta Street reported a dog had been chained up for several days with no food or water. No dog was located.

10:13 a.m. — A caller from the 21000 block of Clivus Drive reported a gopher bite.

10:23 a.m. — A caller from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive requested extra patrols due to heavy transient foot traffic.

12:08 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of North Bloomfield-Graniteville Road reported a dog being beaten. A report was taken.

12:21 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Green Haven Lane reported scamming phone calls.

4:21 p.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Hidden Valley Road reported people were hitting golf balls from above her house and one just made a large hole in her siding.

6:09 p.m. — A caller from the 31000 block of Relief Hill Road reported the theft of cat litter and two hats from a residence.

7:40 p.m. — A woman from the 14000 block of Pilot Peak Lane reported a man hit her on the side of the head. He was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse.

8:33 a.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Zion Street reported a burglary to a vehicle.

10:41 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Commercial Street reported a possible scam.

10:41 a.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported graffiti on a building.

4:03 p.m. — A man from Main and East Broad streets reported a woman just offered him meth.

5:23 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Railroad Avenue reported multiple transients sleeping on the side of a building after dark.

5:31 p.m. — A caller from Commercial Street reported three boys putting graffiti on a wall. It was chalk.
