KACO New Energy moving to Texas
May 12, 2014
KACO New Energy, a producer of solar-panel equipment, is moving its Grass Valley headquarters to a 60,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in San Antonio, Texas.
"With an excellent product portfolio, strong competitive positioning and a dedicated team, KACO is on track to be a top player in the North, Central and South American solar markets," KACO's CEO of the Americas Jurgen Krehnke stated in a press release.
"We are seeing outstanding market acceptance of our inverter solutions and are now hiring a wide range of new positions in San Antonio to unlock the next phase of growth."
KACO officials said the company will more than double its size to accommodate its business growth and that the relocation will increase the company's ability to expand its workforce and manufacturing capacity to serve North American, as well as Central and South American, customers.
The San Antonio manufacturing space is set up to provide an inverter and skid production center with the capability to accommodate at least 200 staff members. The company plans to complete the relocation by June 2014.
KACO officials could not be reached for comment, but the San Antonio Business Journal reported earlier this month that the German-based company will bring 26 workers to the "Alamo City," boosting total employment at the plant to 54.
