Intero celebrates grand opening in downtown Grass Valley
September 2, 2013
Intero Real Estate Services formally celebrated a new downtown Grass Valley office with a grand opening ceremony Friday.
Nevada County Intero franchise owners John and Edie Miller opened their new building at 170 E. Main St. in early June and their Penn Valley location at 11434 Pleasant Valley Road in April.
The couple celebrated the grand opening with community members and businesspeople, as well as Intero Real Estate Services founder, President and CEO Gino Blefari, who traveled from the company's headquarters in Cupertino.
Blefari said he tries to make a point to visit every new Intero office, which total more than 60 worldwide, and that the company focuses on not just expanding, but expanding with the right people.
"We're really not too much about territory as the people," Blefari said.
Such a statement was echoed by John Miller.
"It's about putting good people together and doing good business," Miller said.
Longtime Nevada County resident Steve Apicielli attended the grand opening event after his positive experience with Intero.
Apicielli was looking to buy an expanded home with his wife and took notice of a property that Intero was selling "and the rest was history," he said.
"It's been wonderful, much better than I've had in the past," he said of Intero's level of service. "I'm sincere about it. Just the communication, calling you and listening to your needs, and going and accessing properties that meet what you describe you're looking for and taking time to look at them. I'm very impressed with that."
Intero was founded on 15 values, Blefari said, one of which includes commitment to the community, as evidenced by the established Intero Foundation, which every sale from every office company-wide supports.
"As realtors we earn our living by serving our community and we do that with the Intero Foundation and help children in need," Blefari said.
According to the Intero website, the company was founded in Silicon Valley in 2002 and has expanded to employ 2,000 agents in 60 offices worldwide, and the company has donated more than 1.5 million to children's organizations local to each office.
The company also earned about $7 billion in sales this year, Blefari said.
"We are so proud to work with John and Edie (Miller)," he said. "It's an honor for them to be a part of the group."
