California Solar Electric Company is offering a free lecture to help architects, builders and homeowners learn how to plan for solar as part of a building project and also how to make retrofitting solar easy.

The lecture, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 10 and in partnership with Nevada County Contractors Association, will be at the NCCA offices, 149 Crown Point Ct # A, Grass Valley.

The company will provide solutions that will help you optimize performance and find an aesthetically pleasing renewable energy solution, according to a press release.

Participants will learn new efficient techniques for designing solar into a new project, how to streamline retrofitting an existing solar project and, in general, how to get the most from a renewable energy system, the press release says.

According to the release, the firm will answer these questions: What should an electrical service look like for a solar addition? What considerations should be made when siting a building? Are certain roof materials more effective than others? How do new fire regulations affect solar installations?

Title 24 calculations are considering making new homes Zero Net Energy, meaning they produce as much electricity as they consume. The firm aims to help participants get ahead of the curve and learn how to design the homes of the future today, a press release states.

California Solar uses a wide range of materials and will provide insights into the best type of solar panels for specific projects. The firm will also offer an update on new PG&E regulations.

RSVP by calling California Solar at (530) 274-3671.
