A Squaw Valley residence at 254 Granite Chief Road recently sold for $8.5 million, making it the highest priced home sale in Olympic Valley to date.
The sale price of 254 Granite Chief is nearly $3 million more than the previous record home sale price for Olympic Valley, also known as Squaw Valley.
Chicago architectural firm Strawn.Sierralta designed the modern 5,450-square-foot home, which boasts reclaimed redwood from the Reno flume, fully retractable floor to ceiling window walls and a soaring living space surrounded by the Squaw Valley ski area.
“Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty and Squaw Valley both enjoy an international presence in the truest sense,” said Jeff Hamilton, co-listing agent and managing broker for Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty. “We were able to instantly present this incredible home to the entire world through our network of offices and agents.”
“We had the advantage working for our sellers on this one, and it hit the mark spot on,” said co-listing agent Bill Murphy. “No other firm can match the marketing of fine homes, especially on the international stage.”
Sierra Sotheby’s second quarter micro market report data indicates a 55.94 percent increase in the average sale price of Olympic Valley single family homes from 2012 to 2013.
