Lights go out in Nevada City

Two power outages hit Nevada City at approximately 9:37 a.m. and 12:44 p.m. Wednesday. The first outage was caused by a downed wire and affected 210 customers and power was expected to be restored at 4:30 p.m., according to Pacific Gas & Electric. “It looks like there was equipment failure that caused the wire to come down,” said Brandi Ehlers, PG&E spokeswoman. “It’s not specified as weather-related, which is something that would have been noted if it was.” The second occurrence affected about 3,200 customers and Pacific Gas & Electric was able to restore all but 110 customers, the cause …
