Prep Roundup: Roseville tops NU boys, Lady Miners blowout Roseville

The Nevada Union boys basketball team struggled with Roseville’s half-court trap defense Friday night and it led to their fourth straight Sierra Foothill League loss. Playing in a hostile homecoming environment, the Miners (8-14, 1-4 SFL) couldn’t hang on to a slight halftime edge, and fell 62-54 to the Tigers (17-5, 2-3 SFL). After a sloppy first quarter, NU’s McKay Ritchie got things going for the Miners as the senior guard scored 10 points in the second quarter, including a pair of 3-pointers.
