We recently attended two free lectures at the North San Juan Senior Center. The information has already made an impact upon our lives. We’re so excited about the health information that we’d love to encourage the community to consider these educational opportunities for our health — restoring vitality and longevity to our lives! On Oct. 25, Tom Wade spoke to us on the importance of a healthy micro-biology system in the body. We’ve already started making our own yogurt to support our system. On Oct. 30, Skyler Myers provided a beginning yoga session under the trees that was geared toward some of us with injuries. We stretched from the benches and some on mats, which felt amazing. We brought our own mats and were impressed that Skyler had blankets, mats and blocks for those without. These classes are ongoing through June 2013 via a SNAP-Ed Grant. The Nov. 1 lecture was on cheese making and Nov. 8 was another lecture by Tom on why we should grow and eat organic. Any donations are accepted for the benefit of the Senior Center, which is being built up to support the community. Call (530) 292-9048 for information. See you there!
