Gas prices flatten following record highs

After a month of stressing at the pump, Northern California residents are getting good news about the stabilization of gas prices. In the past month, every metro area in Northern California saw a price increase of at  least four cents per month, according to Cynthia Harris, spokeswoman for AAA Northern California. The average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline was $4.17, an increase of seven cents since the Aug. 14 report, Harris said. California has the second highest gas prices, behind only Hawaii. Locally, the Quik Stop on Hughes Road reported a low price of $4.01 Friday, while …
