Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Volunteer Nevada County
March 10, 2014
Everyone is invited to share their time and talents with Nevada County nonprofits, public agencies, and schools. Over 75 local agencies need your help. View more volunteer opportunities at http://www.volunteernevadacounty.org. Here is a sampling of what is available:
English language learners need your help
It's not too late! Sign up to take the two-day training workshop on Saturday March 15 and March 22. Help English Language Learners thrive in our community by volunteering as a one-to-one tutor with an adult English Language Learner (ELL). It is not necessary to know another language or to have a teaching background. Special ongoing training is also provided.
Short term citizen review teams
Citizen Review Teams (CRT) assist in the assessment of non-profit agencies that apply for partnership and funding from the United Way of Nevada County. After the initial training, members will visit 4 to 5 nonprofit agencies between March 31 and April 15. This is a wonderful way to learn about the Health and Human Services non-profit agencies in Nevada County. Initial training takes place March 24th at 5:30 p.m.
