Twin Cities Church

Join us Sunday as we continue our series "Waiting For The Light." The message this week is "Longing For The Light." Nevada City United Methodist Church

On this 3rd Sunday of Advent, a medley of carols and a cantata called "He is Here" is the theme for the traditional service at 9 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., we will be having the Children's Christmas Pageant. Because of the pageant, there won't be Sunday School this week. A time of fellowship follows both services downstairs in our Fellowship Hall.

From noon to 6 p.m.: Victorian Christmas will be held in Nevada City with crafts, coffee and cookies and a visit from Santa here in our church. Another way to see one of our services is by going to Comcast Channel 11 on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. .or Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m.

A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny's Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of "Christian Business Men's Committee," we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. As a welcome break between weekends, these men encourage each other as they wish to encourage you in these trying times. Pray Nevada County

We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities. In the month of November, we will be meeting at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Church Street, Grass Valley.

Grass Valley AM AGLOW

We are a local chapter of Aglow International, meets the second Tuesday of every month from 9:45 a.m. to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley. The Healing Rooms of Nevada County

We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Hope Bearers

We are a Christian cancer support group that meets at Foothill Church. Those with serious chronic illnesses, including cancer, and their care givers are encouraged to come and share in a safe environment concerning this difficult time. The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)

We advocate for human rights, equality and justice for all in Palestine and Israel. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Peace Center of Nevada County, 216 B Main Street, Nevada City. PIWG sponsors the Women and Men in Black vigil Thursdays, 5:15 to 6 p.m. on the Broad Street bridge in Nevada City. We vigil to in support of the Women in Black in Israel, who founded the movement in 1988. All who support human rights and justice for all in Palestine and Israel are welcome to join the vigil.
