Sierra Presbyterian Church

Join us in June, July and August for Psalms in the Summertime. We will be reading through the book of Psalms using a reading plan bookmark and the Sermons will cover different Psalms each week. Our casual summer services are 9 a.m. (traditional) and 10:30 a.m. (contemporary). Sierra Center for Spiritual Living

Bethel Church, Nevada County

Sierra Pines United Methodist Church

First Baptist Church, Grass Valley

The Youth Choir of First Baptist has been on a mission trip to the Bay Area and Central Valley. They will be presenting their musical production at both the 9 and 11 a.m. services. Some of the youth will be sharing about what they learned while serving throughout the week. Sunday school for adults, youth, children and preschoolers is provided. Prayer, Bible Studies and youth group continue through the summer.

Pray Nevada County

We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. The Healing Rooms of Nevada County

Need healing? Physical or emotional? We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Come to the Main Lobby of the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, 155 Glasson Way, Grass Valley on Thursdays, 7 to 8:30 p.m. There is no fee and no appointment is necessary. Also, Tuesday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. healing ministry is available by appointment only. NOTE: Healing Rooms will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and resume on Thursday, July ll.

Grass Valley AM AGLOW

We are a local chapter of Aglow International, meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 9:45 to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley.

At our July 9 meeting Linda Langley, Tryphena Plasier and Penny Allen will be ministering on the “Power of Partnership.”

Aglow is a wonderful opportunity for unity in the Body of Christ and is not “just for women” anymore! Take Brunswick Road to Whispering Pines Lane, left on Crown Point Circle and then right @ Nevada County Board of Realtors. Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Our Buddhist Insight Meditation group meets every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mountain Stream Meditation Center, 710 Zion St., Nevada City.

On June 24, Mountain Stream teacher Heather Sundberg will lead a silent meditation followed by a talk. Please carpool.

Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains

Brother, can you spare an … hour?

A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. Penny’s Diner is located at 2072 Nevada City Highway in the B&C Fowler Center in Grass Valley.

Hope Bearers

We are a Christian cancer support group that meets at Foothill Church. Those with serious chronic illnesses, including cancer, and their care givers are encouraged to come and share in a safe environment concerning this difficult time. Family, friends and caregivers are all welcome. Meetings are 6 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of every month. Located at 14600 State Highway 49, Grass Valley.

Christian Science Church

The Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers. Each Sunday the Scriptural texts and their correlative passages comprise our sermons. The same Bible Lessons are read at Christian Science churches all over the world. Here in Grass Valley, services and Sunday School meet at 10 a.m.

Wednesday evening meetings at 7:30 p.m. are a special time to express gratitude for healings and progress made in the study of Christian Science. The church is located at 375 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley. For more information, call 530-273-9452. All are welcome.

St. Canice Roman Catholic Church, Nevada City

Daily Mass is 7:30 a.m./Saturday Vigil is 5:30 p.m./Sunday 8, 9 and 11 a.m.

For six weeks now one of our ministries have been conducting a survey to all our parishioners to update contact information in order to keep our family of Parishioner’s informed on current events, days of obligation, feast days and ministry news. As will our new parish website, which is being developed. The survey is coming to an end and if you have NOT had a telephone call by one of our volunteer’s we have registration forms at the front entrance of St. Canice or if you call we can email or mail a registration form to you. Let us know if anything has changed or have moved so we can update accordingly, provide you or a family member’s current mailing address, telephone number and email address if one is available. The main objective of our survey is to learn from our parishioners what their concerns or issues may be - regarding our Church. Grass Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church

Kingdom Rock: Vacation Bible School for kids ages preschool to 8th grade, will be held June 17 to 21, 9 a.m. to noon. Kids will enjoy a great program including songs, stories, crafts and games! In addition to our regularly scheduled worship services, we have two special worship events this month. Outdoor church on June 15 and the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Echo Ridge School during the worship service on June 22. Saturday worship times: adult/youth/children Bible classes from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., morning worship service: 10:40 a.m. to noon. Everyone is invited to join our weekly fellowship meals following the Saturday service (except on June 15).
