First Baptist Church, Grass Valley

Your faith in Christ can grow! Pastor Mark begins a new sermon series Sunday titled “Daring Faith.” This series will explore the lives of 6 Old Testament heroes who demonstrated daring faith. Looking at Noah’s life in Genesis 6-8 this week, let’s learn how to “Go Against the Flow” as a means of strengthening our faith.

Traditional service at 9 a.m. features a mix of praise songs and hymns. Sunday School for Adults, youth, children and preschoolers is provided. Contemporary service at 11 a.m. features upbeat praise music. Join us Wednesdays for dinner at 4:45 to 6 p.m. in the Upper Fellowship Hall. Prayer, Bible Studies, Children’s activities and youth group follow. Celebrate Recovery, a Christ based 12-Step program meets in the Lower Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Grass Valley AM AGLOW

We are a local chapter of Aglow International and meet the second Tuesday of every month from 9:45 a.m. to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley. At our June 11 meeting, Father Sylvester Kwaitkowski of St. Patrick & St. Canice Churches, will be sharing his newly found gift of artistic expression and ministering on “The Power of Silence”.

Aglow is an opportunity for unity in the Body of Christ and is not “just for women” anymore. Take Brunswick Road to Whispering Pines Lane, left on Crown Point Circle and then right at Nevada County Board of Realtors.

Christian Science Church

The Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers. Each Sunday the Scriptural texts and their correlative passages comprise our sermons. The same Bible Lessons are read at Christian Science churches all over the world. Here in Grass Valley, services and Sunday School meet at 10 a.m.

Wednesday evening meetings at 7:30 p.m. are a special time to express gratitude for healings and progress made in the study of Christian Science. The church is located at 375 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley. Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. is church clean-up day followed by a potluck.

Twin Cities Church

Join us Sunday as we begin our new series “Unstuck.” The message this week is “Forming Habits Of Financial Fitness.” Twin Cities Church meets Sundays at 8, 9:35, and 11:15 a.m. at 11726 Rough & Ready Highway.

Church of the Essence

Come and join our spiritual gatherings. We meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays with each evening beginning with a circulation of the Light through a guided meditation, followed by the evening presentation, which includes voluntary sharing and discussions. Brother, can you spare an … hour?

A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. Penny’s Diner is located at 2072 Nevada City Highway in the B&C Fowler Center in Grass Valley.

Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Our Buddhist Insight Meditation group meets every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mountain Stream Meditation Center, 710 Zion St., Nevada City. On June 3, Mountain Stream teacher Heather Sundberg will lead a silent meditation followed by a talk. Please carpool. Pray Nevada County

We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. The Healing Rooms of Nevada County

Need healing? Physical or emotional? We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Sierra Center for Spiritual Living

Holy Wisdom, Nevada City

Many people do not attend church at all, or do so very infrequently. St. Canice Roman Catholic Church of Nevada City

For six weeks now one of our Ministries have been conducting a survey to all our parishioners to update contact information in order to keep our family of parishioners informed on current events, days of obligation, feast days and ministry news.
