Mauraths celebrate 65 years

Red and Dot Maurath of Grass Valley celebrated 65 years of marriage this past December. To celebrate, the couple was taken on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera by their daughter, Vickie, and her husband, Dave Janek.

The Mauraths have three children, six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Red is a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He went on to drive a truck for 20 years before retiring.

Dot was a state employee before retiring in 1988. The two have been traveling by RV, plane and ship during their retirement and have visited all 50 states, as well as extensive travel abroad.

The Mauraths continue to keep busy with local organizations, such as the American Legion, VFW, Elks, Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association.
