The Grass Valley man who committed suicide at the county jail Tuesday morning had been arrested the week prior after reportedly cutting himself in a possible suicide attempt. Raymond James Pistella, 51, had gone up to the second tier of a jail pod, which overlooked a “day area,” and climbed over the metal railing, Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal said.
